Our clients and candidates rely on our personal approach, strong connections, and supportive process to meet their objectives.About the RoleThe VP will join a private investment firm in their Miami, FL office. The firm seeks to invest in companies operating in consumer & retail, healthcare, niche manufacturing, technology, business services, and value-added distribution sector firms based in the United States & Canada. They have closed their 12 funds worth over $5.5B and prefer investing $20-250M in firms with more than $1M EBITDA.Key ResponsibilitiesThe VP will join senior investment professionals in investment sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio management functions of the firm. Specific responsibilities may include:Deal Sourcing

• Drive deal flow.
• Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities.
• Network and build relationships with intermediaries.
• Attend industry events.
• Conduct market research to uncover potential deals.Due Diligence
  • Manage the development of investment committee materials.
  • Lead and conduct due diligence.
  • Analyze financial statements, assess market trends, evaluate competition, identify potential risks and opportunities associated with the investment.
  • Oversee industry and market analysis.
  • Operational assessments of target companies.Financial Modeling and Valuation
    • Build and/or oversee complex financial models to evaluate potential investments, including performing valuation analyses such as discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis (CCA), and precedent transactions analysis.Deal Structuring and Negotiation
      • Develop and negotiate deal structure and terms including the acquisition strategy, purchase price, financing arrangements, governance structures, and legal documentation.
      • Negotiate with sellers, management teams, and other stakeholders.
      • Close new platform investments and add-on acquisitions.Investment Committee Presentations
        • Prepare detailed confidential investment memos (CIMs) and presentations to present to the firm's investment committee.Team Leadership and Mentorship
          • Lead deal team(s).
          • Provide guidance and direction to junior team members.
          • Actively mentor analysts and associates, helping them develop their skills and grow within the organization.Internal Processes
            • Contribute to the development and implementation of the firm's investment processes, policies, and best practices.Deal Pipeline Management
              • Maintain a robust pipeline of potential investment opportunities and prioritize resources accordingly.
              • Maintain relationships with industry experts, advisors, and potential management teams.
              • Develop and expand industry knowledge to aid in deal flow.Professional Experience & Qualifications
                • Six years of PE/IB experience with a minimum of 4 years of private equity deal team experience; upper middle-market experience a plus.
                • Must have proven VP experience, can hit the ground running from day 1.
                • Relevant deal experience is essential (relevant industries, Discovery deals are $1-4mm EBITDA, funder led, unbanked processes).
                • Experience working with, influencing, and building trust with Founders is essential.
