ADP is hiring a Director of Data Engineering dedicated to
analytical use case development within our HR Outsourcing (HRO)
Business Transformation and Analytics organization. This role will
play a critical part in accelerating execution, ensuring stronger
team alignment, and enhancing specialized engineering for BI and
Data Science solutions. The Director of Data Engineering will lead
a team focused on building and optimizing analytical
transformations, feature stores, and scalable data solutions to
meet business needs.We are looking for a tactical leader who

and ensures data quality and governance in analytical solutions.
The right candidate will be highly collaborative, working across
engineering, BI, and Data Science teams to bridge technical

data integrity.Responsibilities/Activities:
- Lead and manage a team of engineers focused on BI and Data
Science use case development.
- Drive faster execution, prioritizing efficiency while ensuring
high-quality analytical data solutions.
- Partner with BI, Data Science, and business teams to define
technical requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Improve analytical transformations and feature store
development, ensuring best practices in data engineering, modeling,
and performance optimization.
- Implement data governance controls to maintain validation,
security, and lineage tracking.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with
architectural best practices.
- Oversee execution timelines, proactively identifying and
addressing bottlenecks.
- Provide technical leadership, supporting engineers in solving
complex data and analytics challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes,
leveraging automation and best practices.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align technical execution
with strategic business priorities.To succeed in this role, you
should have:
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics
engineering, or software development, with 5+ years of leadership
experience.
- Strong expertise in data transformations, feature engineering,
and analytical data pipelines.
- Proven ability to lead tactical engineering teams, manage
execution priorities, and ensure on-time delivery.
- Deep technical knowledge of big data technologies (Databricks,
Spark, SQL, Python, PySpark) and cloud-based data platforms.
- Experience working with BI and Data Science teams, translating
business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Expertise in performance optimization, governance, and security
for analytical solutions.
- Ability to work in agile environments, driving execution
efficiency and reducing bottlenecks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of removing
obstacles to accelerate execution.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with
the ability to present technical solutions to senior
leadership.Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Master's/MBA) in Software Engineering, Data
Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and
large-scale data processing frameworks.
- Knowledge of data governance best practices, including lineage
tracking, validation, and access control.
- Experience with feature store development and analytical
transformations for BI and ML.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Bitbucket, Jenkins) and automation
