A well-established structural engineering firm is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead and expand its Miami, FL office. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to drive business development, lead a high-performing team, and oversee major structural projects across South Florida.Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Lead and grow the Miami office, overseeing operations, project execution, and client relationships.
• Business Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, developers, and contractors to expand the firm's market presence.
• Project Management: Provide technical oversight on complex structural engineering projects across commercial, residential, healthcare, and institutional sectors.
• Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
• Client Engagement: Act as a primary client liaison, ensuring projects meet technical standards, budgets, and timelines.
• Quality Control: Oversee design processes, review calculations, and ensure compliance with industry codes and best practices.
• Market Expansion: Identify new opportunities and participate in industry events to promote the firm's expertise in structural engineering.Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of structural engineering experience, with a focus on commercial and institutional projects.
  • PE license required (Florida preferred or ability to obtain via reciprocity).
  • Proven track record in business development, client relationship management, and revenue growth.
  • Experience leading and managing engineering teams in a consulting environment.
  • Expertise in structural design, analysis, and construction methods across various building materials (steel, concrete, wood, masonry).
  • Proficiency in structural design software such as ETABS, RAM, RISA, and Revit.
  • Strong knowledge of Florida building codes and industry standards (IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI).
