Type of Contract: Permanent
Pay Rate: $173,331 - $225,330 per year (based on experience)
Description:
We're seeking a detail-driven Radiation Physicist - Proton Oncology
to support the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy in
a collaborative oncology setting. This role focuses on ensuring
precision in proton therapy treatment planning, quality assurance,
and compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
Under the guidance of the Director of Medical Physics and in
partnership with Senior Physicists, you will contribute to
equipment calibration, dosimetry, radiation protection, and
advanced patient treatment planning. You'll play a key role in
supporting outstanding patient outcomes through expert application
of proton therapy principles.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Develop and optimize precise radiation treatment plans using proton
therapy technologies.
Conduct quality assurance checks and maintain calibration of
treatment equipment.
Ensure adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, and radiation safety
regulations.
Collaborate with clinical staff in treatment planning and radiation
protection protocols.
Support daily physics operations across dosimetry, QA, and
calibration.
Assist in evaluating and implementing new clinical protocols and
equipment.
Maintain active certification and meet continuing education
requirements.
Contribute to maintaining accreditation and compliance with ACR and
other standards.
Requirements:
Education:
Master's or PhD in Medical Physics from an accredited
institution.
Certification & Licensure:
Board Eligible - Required (Certification must be completed within
three years)
ABR or BMP Certification - Required or in progress
Therapeutic Radiological Physicist License - Required (or ability
to obtain)
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in medical radiation physics
At least 1 year of experience in proton therapy - Preferred
Skills:
Strong foundation in proton therapy planning and delivery
Proficiency in dosimetry, radiation safety, and QA practices
Familiarity with treatment planning and oncology software
systems
Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills
