Schedule: Full-Time - Monday - Friday - 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Type of Contract: Permanent
Pay Rate: $181,997 - $236,596 per year (based on experience)
Description:
We're seeking a highly skilled Photon Radiation Therapy Physicist
to join a dynamic Radiation Oncology team. In this essential role,
you'll ensure the safe and accurate delivery of photon radiation
treatments while optimizing planning protocols and supporting
quality assurance (QA), dosimetry, and radiation safety
initiatives.
Reporting to the Director of Medical Physics, you'll collaborate
with senior physicists and a multidisciplinary clinical team to
maintain the highest standards of patient care and technical
precision in photon therapy.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Design, evaluate, and optimize photon radiation treatment
plans.
Deliver ongoing physics support in all aspects of radiation
oncology.
Conduct QA checks, calibrate equipment, and participate in
maintenance protocols.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and all regulatory
standards.
Contribute to equipment commissioning and acceptance testing
processes.
Support radiation safety protocols for both patients and staff.
Maintain board certification and continuing education
requirements.
Work cross-functionally with oncologists, dosimetrists, and
therapists to ensure clinical excellence.
Requirements:
Education:
Master's degree in Medical Physics - Required
PhD in Medical Physics - Preferred
Licensure & Certification:
Board certification or board eligibility by ABR or BMP -
Required
Must obtain certification within 3 years if not already
certified
Florida Therapeutic Radiological Physicist (TRP) License -
Required
Experience:
Minimum 3 years in a medical radiation physics role
Skills & Proficiencies:
Expertise in dosimetry, QA, and photon treatment delivery
Proficiency with radiation oncology software and imaging
systems
Strong communication and teamwork capabilities
Solid understanding of photon-based treatment planning
protocols
