CDN Architect to design, implements, and optimizes Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability for web applications and content delivery, focusing on minimizing latency and maximizing user experience.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Develop CDN architectures that meet specific business and technical requirements, considering factors like content type, user location, and performance goals.

Plan and implement CDN infrastructure, including edge server placement, caching strategies, and network topologies.


Design and implement CDN configurations to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability for a wide range of customer websites with varied business requirements.

Configure and manage CDN services, including caching rules, origin server settings, and security protocols.

Monitor CDN performance and identify areas for improvement, implementing optimizations to enhance speed and reliability.

Work with development and operations teams to integrate CDN solutions into existing infrastructure.

Diagnose and resolve CDN performance issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal user experience.

Collaborate with other teams to identify and address root causes of CDN problems. Stay informed about the latest CDN technologies and best practices.

Continuously evaluate and improve CDN architectures and configurations.

May be involved in pre-sales activities, providing technical expertise to potential customers. May provide technical support and guidance to existing customers.

Technical Expertise:

Strong understanding of CDN technologies, including caching, edge servers, and network protocols. Experience with CDN platforms such as Akamai, Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront, or Google Cloud CDN. Knowledge of network infrastructure, including DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.

Experience with scripting and automation tools.

Ability to diagnose and resolve complex CDN performance issues. Strong analytical skills to identify trends and patterns in CDN data.

Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with other teams. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Experience with performance testing and optimization.

Understanding of web application architecture and development practices.

Desired to have:

Develop and maintain CDN documentation.

Participate in capacity planning and resource allocation for CDN infrastructure.
