Job Summary and Qualifications The Clinical Professional Development Educator enhances professional practice and the provision of quality patient care by providing evidence-based quality educational programs and activities that promote professional aptitude for nursing, inter-professional, and non-licensed clinical staff at the assigned facility. What you will do in this role:
  • Lecture nursing course theory
  • Develop tests in conjunction with the Program Chair
  • Supervise nursing students in specified clinical rotations
  • Provide academic student advisement, guidance and tutoring
  • Utilize a variety of resources to maximize student learning and active engagement
  • Assess individual and group learning needs and modifies teaching approaches as necessary to maintain effective instruction
  • Maintain positive teaching qualities including appearance, voice tone, body language, preparedness, enthusiasm, and creativity conducive to a learning environment
  • Maintain immediate availability to students during a clinical rotation offering feedback and direction in a professional manner
  • Communicate effectively and professional with clinical unit staff and leadership to facilitate a collegial relationship What qualifications you will need:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
    • 3-5 years of nursing clinical practice in a pediatric area
    • Teaching in a nursing academic program is preferred
    • Must have or be actively working on a master's degree in nursing. Active, unencumbered RN or APRN license is requiredHCA Florida Mercy Hospital is a 488-bed facility.
