As RBI's Network Architect, you will be accountable for defining
and delivering our enterprise network and telecommunications
standards. You will be a highly knowledgeable member of a diverse
team responsible for developing Public and Private IT
infrastructure solutions and standards that meet or exceed business
performance expectations. You will work closely with application,
server, storage, and security architects to ensure proper
discovery, dependency, and downtime windows are implemented. You
will also guide and assign other Network Administrators to tasks
aligned to the improvement and enhancement of our network and
telecommunications infrastructure solutions.Responsibilities
- Provide expertise and technical leadership to define RBI's
network and telecommunications strategy, create actionable
multi-year roadmaps, and lead the implementation using next
generation SASE network design principles.
- Act as the global subject matter expert in our WAN, LAN, VoIP,
wireless, and hybrid cloud network solutions, partnering with both
business and IT functions to provide domain expertise and best
practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, product vendors, and
other third-party service providers in the strategic design process
to translate business needs into platform/custom solutions.
- Serve as a technical leader undertaking complex initiatives
requiring specialized technical knowledge.
- Evaluate emerging network and telecom technologies to make
business cases where relevant for introducing those that align with
our corporate imperatives, business goals, and technology roadmaps
and will help deliver operational excellence.
- Lead the development of network and telecommunications solution
standards and procedures.
- Design, plan, document, and support the configuration of
logical and physical system layouts.
- Develop detailed design, installation, and configuration
documentation for enterprise system deployments.
- Develop operational documentation and diagrams, design and
build device configuration templates, automate device deployments
and changes, and contribute to the overall stability and
standardization of the network environment.
- Oversee and lead the delivery of large-scale strategic
initiatives, such as the optimization of our audio/visual platform
and migration of our telephony platform to the cloud.
- Perform analysis and develop solutions that address capacity
planning and performance tuning requests.
- Help identify, define, and implement service level agreements
and key performance indicators, including trend data, to
demonstrate the impact of network services on the end user
experience, including availability, performance, security, and
operational response.
- Act as the point of escalation in our incident and problem
management processes, driving the network architecture team to
create processes for continuous improvement in network design.
- Participate in the incident, problem, configuration, change,
and release management processes with demonstrable, metric-based
continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and direction on the integration of mergers
and acquisitions, including the ability to rationalize and justify
equipment, vendor, and process decisions.
- Use broad experience of modern IT landscapes to align technical
direction and the needs of the business to provide a superior
end-user experience consisting of higher availability, better
performance, and improved agility.
- Work closely with security, governance, risk, and compliance
teams to ensure RBI employs security best practices.
- Participate as part of our enterprise DR leadership team to
ensure business outcomes are met through proper infrastructure
design and testing methodologies.
- Work with strategic vendors and partners to review and
influence product roadmaps, strategies, execute PoC's, and identify
gaps and solutions.
- Participate in industry-related conferences and events.
- Provide technical and professional leadership via coaching
moments to fellow employee-owners.
- Remain informed of industry trends, technology products, best
practices, strategies, and services.
- Partner with key vendors responsible for monitoring and
managing the environment.
- Assist in negotiating vendor agreements.Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or
equivalent and related work experience.
- 10+ years of experience with network switching and routing,
voice, and cloud technologies.
- 5+ years of experience with Cisco Nexus and Meraki, Aruba
wireless, and SDWAN products and services.
- Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing
AWS-based technology platforms and capabilities including, but not
limited to, Virtual Networks, Transit Gateways, Load Balancers,
Direct Connect, and Global Accelerator.
- Certifications in areas related to network and telecom
management are preferred (CNE, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CTNS, CTSME, Cisco
S).
- Knowledge of client/server and host-based strategies and
different network topologies.
- Experience managing on premise, cloud, co-location, and hybrid
data center network infrastructure.
- Hands-on and design and implementation experience with servers,
networking, VoIP, unified communication, virtualization, Microsoft
365, and end user computing, including end point device
management.
- Vendor management including RFI/RFP creation, evaluation, and
vendor negotiations.
- Internet and network security experience (Zscaler and Netskope
are a plus).
- Solid understanding of designing and administering IP networks
(TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPNs, load balancers, VLANs, QoS, Ethernet,
802.1q/p, Spanning Tree, RADIUS, TACACS, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of network management tools, including SNMP,
Syslog, NTP, etc.
- Technical knowledge of and experience with wireless
telecommunications industry and standards is a plus.
- Strong project management and implementation skills.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Server and workstation OSes,
UNIX, Linux and MacOS.
- Expert level understanding of current vendor technology
offerings in the network and telecom space.Restaurant Brands
