a Director of Sales, Marine Logistics. The ideal candidate will
exhibit a strategic, customer-oriented, multi-national focus on
seeking new marine logistics opportunities. This role will be
responsible for developing and executing a strategic sales plan,
personally leading prospecting efforts and closing new business
opportunities. This role requires a proactive, entrepreneurial
sales professional with a deep understanding of logistics services,
particularly in the marine sector, and a track record of success in
consultative selling.Responsibilities
- Participates with senior managers, executives and staff to
establish corporate strategic sales plans, goals and objectives to
achieve revenue targets in North America's marine logistics
market.
- Identify, target and prospect new business opportunities with
key players in the marine industry, including shipping companies
and vessel operators. Deeper selling into existing accounts, with
the goal of growth and achieving satisfaction with existing
customers.
- Lead and execute on the development of account plan(s)
including relationship building, overall account strategy and
budgeting/targeting business growth and development
opportunities.
- Drive the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing,
ensuring seamless contract negotiation and onboarding. Negotiate
pricing, terms and service agreements to meet client needs while
maintaining profitability.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts in the
region, ensuring a high-level of client satisfaction.
- Regularly report on sales performance, pipeline status and key
business metrics. Utilize data-driven insights to adjust strategies
and tactics for continuous improvement.
- Ability to recruit, train and develop a motivated and driven
high-performance team.
- Work to promote the AIT culture, values, teamwork, and ethics
while striving for high performance and providing a world-class
experience for our customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- The wage range for this position is $175,000 - $250,000
annually and may vary based on geography as well as relative
knowledge, skills, abilities, and
experience.QualificationsEducation
- High School Degree or GED (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in business
administration, marketing, sales or a related field.
(Preferred)Experience
- 10+ years working in a multi/national focused, fast-paced and
high-volume environment with a focus on marine logistics services.
(Required)
- 10+ years relationship management experience (Preferred)
- 10+ years proven track record of selling supply chain services
domestically and internationally across all modes within the marine
logistics sector. (Required)Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proven track record in generating profitable revenue growth and
retaining existing customers. (High)
- Ability to lead strategy for international and domestic RFQs,
including customs brokerage and compliant services. (High)
- Skilled at business planning and diligent at measuring and
communicating progress towards the plan, identifying roadblocks,
while being solution-oriented. (High)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the
ability to make concise and compelling presentations. (High)
- Strong computer skills. (High)What AIT Can Offer YouIn addition
to your base compensation, you may be eligible for commissions of
up to 6% based on specific sales goals and objectives (depending on
your position), as well as an additional 1% of all vertical sales
commissions and participation in the sales profit share plan.
